Terms of service

The agreement
Xtant (“we”, “us”) provides the website getxtant.com, the account site dash.getxtant.com, and the Xtant apps for Mac and iPhone. By creating an account or using Xtant, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. Questions: hello@getxtant.com.
What Xtant does
Xtant reads X on your Mac, uses AI to pick the posts worth a reply and suggest replies, helps you polish your own posts, suggests good times to post, and reminds you. You finish each reply or post and press the final button yourself.
Xtant requires a Mac with macOS 14 or later. The iPhone app works alongside the Mac app, not without it. Features may change as Xtant grows.
Your X accounts and X’s rules
Add only X accounts you control. You are responsible for following X’s rules and terms. X’s rules say scripting the X website can get an account limited or permanently suspended. Xtant never presses Post, Reply or Schedule on X, and it reads at a careful pace by default. Faster paces raise the risk, and the app warns you before you choose one.
We cannot promise that X will not limit or suspend an account, and we are not responsible for what X does. Xtant is not affiliated with X Corp.
What you post
AI suggestions can be wrong, off in tone, or out of date. Read each one before you use it. What you post on X is your choice and your responsibility.
Do not use Xtant for spam, harassment, deception or anything unlawful, or to break X’s rules on automation and platform manipulation.
Your own keys and subscriptions
When a feature runs on your own OpenAI or Anthropic key, or on your Claude or ChatGPT subscription through Claude Code or Codex on your Mac, your agreement with that provider applies, and you pay that provider. Xtant never reads, copies or keeps those logins. Xtant is not affiliated with OpenAI or Anthropic.
Your account
You sign in with Apple, with a code or link sent to your email, or with a passkey. Keep your devices secure: you are responsible for what happens on your account. One person, one account: creating extra accounts to collect more free credit is not allowed.
Credits and fees
- Prepaid credits. Xtant runs on credits you buy ahead, in US dollars: packs of $10, $25 or $50, through Stripe on the web or in the Mac app, or as in-app purchases on the iPhone. All purchases land in one balance.
- Free credit. $10 of credit, once, at your first sign-in from a Mac or an iPhone. It is a promotional credit with no cash value.
- Daily fee. Each X account you have not paused costs a daily fee for each day (UTC), whether or not it was read that day. A paused account costs nothing.
- AI on Xtant’s credits. Each AI action is charged from your credits, at ten times what our AI supplier charges us for it. A feature on your own key or subscription costs no credits.
- Failed AI actions. When an AI action you asked for fails after the supplier answered, the first 20 such failures each day (UTC) are free. After that, each costs what the supplier charged us, with no markup. An action Xtant started on its own is never charged when it fails.
- No expiry, no automatic charges. Credits never expire. There is no automatic top-up: we never charge your card or your Apple account unless you buy credits.
- Running low. AI on Xtant’s credits stops at $0. The daily fee may take your balance below $0 by up to three days of your daily fees. After that, all your X accounts pause until a top-up brings your balance back to $0 or more, and then they resume. The apps warn you before each step.
- Prices. The current rates are shown in the apps and on getxtant.com.
- No cash value. Credits cannot be transferred, sold or exchanged for money.
Refunds
Credits are not refundable, except where the law requires it. App Store purchases follow Apple’s refund rules. When Apple refunds a purchase, the credits it added are taken back from your balance.
Your content
Your settings, prompts, reply history and the posts you prepare are yours. You give us only the rights we need to process them to run Xtant. The posts Xtant reads from X belong to their authors: Xtant holds them for a short time, only to choose posts and suggest replies for you.
Fair use
- No attempts to reach other people’s accounts or data, or to get around sign-in, limits or billing.
- No loads meant to slow Xtant down for everyone.
- No reselling Xtant or access to it.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
Availability
Xtant is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind. X changes its pages from time to time, and reading may stop until we update Xtant. We work to keep Xtant reliable and to announce disruptive changes ahead of time.
Liability
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, including anything X does to an account. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it.
Ending
You can stop using Xtant and delete your account at any time, in the Mac app or the iPhone app. Deleting your account forfeits any unused credits, with no refund, except where the law requires it. We may suspend or close an account for a serious breach of these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States.
Changes to these terms
When these terms change, the date at the top changes too. Using Xtant after a change means you accept the new terms.
